About Me
I'm Emily! I first became interested in dog training when I (unknowingly) adopted a reactive dog. I learned everything I could through classes, research, and meeting other reactive dog owners. I definitely fumbled along the way! I found that rewards-based training methods were the most effective and I’ve since adopted and worked with other dogs with behavioral issues. In 2023, I started volunteering in obedience classes and shadowing other trainers at the MSPCA. In 2025 I began working as a trainer and earned my CCPDT certification. I am a CPDT-KA professional dog trainer.
I am passionate about working with dogs and their humans on basic obedience as well as problem behaviors, and fear based behavior issues. I am a science backed positive reinforcement trainer using fear free approaches. I am comfortable handling all sizes, ages, breeds, and reactivity levels. I will work to provide you with the skills to build a long lasting relationship with your pup based on trust. They are a part of the family after all!
What to Expect
I recognize the importance of working with a trainer you click with and trust. Our relationship will start with an initial free phone consultation. During this time, we’ll discuss your dogs behavioral issues, your training goals, and determine if I'm a good fit for you in helping you achieve them. We will develop a personalized plan aligned with your training needs and goals. If you’re unsure what you need, I can provide that guidance.
Before each session I will let you know what you need to have and provide a breakdown of the plans for that day. Your training sessions will be tailored to you and what you want to work on. In between sessions I will suggest things you can work on to further cement the new skills.
